Air Conditioning Installation in BR7 Samsung WindFree™ Single Split for a Garden Home Office
Overview
Bromley Energy completed a high-specification air conditioning installation in BR7, serving a newly built garden home office.
The objective was simple:
Deliver quiet, discreet and efficient climate control suitable for year-round use without compromising the aesthetic of the new build.
We installed a 2.5kW Samsung Climate Solutions WindFree™ wall-mounted single split system, providing both cooling and heating capability.
The Problem
The client had invested in a purpose-built garden office designed for daily professional use.
However, as with many garden buildings:
-
- Summer overheating was inevitable due to glazing and insulation levels
-
- Winter temperatures would fluctuate without dedicated heating
-
- Portable units are noisy, inefficient and visually intrusive
The space required:
-
- Consistent temperature control
-
- Low noise levels for calls and meetings
-
- A clean, modern finish
-
- Energy-efficient operation
The Solution
We specified a 2.5kW Samsung WindFree™ single split system, ideal for smaller insulated spaces such as home offices.
This unit was selected because:
-
- Correct output for the room size, avoiding oversizing and short cycling
-
- WindFree™ technology for draft-free comfort
-
- Extremely low internal noise levels
-
- High seasonal efficiency
-
- Discreet, modern internal aesthetic
The system provides both cooling and reverse-cycle heating, making the office usable all year round.
Technical Design
System Type: Single split wall-mounted
Manufacturer: Samsung Climate Solutions
Model: WindFree™ 2.5kW
Application: Garden office
Key design considerations:
-
- Correct sizing based on room volume and glazing
-
- External condenser positioned to minimise noise transmission
-
- Pipework routed cleanly to maintain building aesthetics
-
- Discreet condensate management
-
- Independent electrical supply installed
We do not oversize for safety. Correct output selection ensures:
-
- Stable operation
-
- Better humidity control
-
- Reduced cycling
-
- Improved longevity
This is the difference between an engineered installation and a basic box-fit approach.
Installation
Indoor Unit:

-
- Mounted centrally for optimal airflow distribution
-
- Levelled and securely fixed
-
- Pipework concealed and neatly trunked
-
- Clean wall penetration and sealed finish
Outdoor Unit:

-
- Mounted securely with anti-vibration supports
-
- Adequate airflow clearance maintained
-
- Pipe runs pressure tested and vacuumed
-
- Fully commissioned to manufacturer standards
The system was tested for:
-
- Refrigerant integrity
-
- Correct operating pressures
-
- Cooling and heating performance
-
- Noise levels
Full client handover provided.
The Result
The client now has:
-
- Year-round climate control
-
- Near-silent operation during meetings
-
- Even, draft-free cooling
-
- Efficient electric heating in winter
-
- A clean, modern finish that complements the building
The garden office is now a fully usable professional workspace in all seasons.
